Washburn Woman Fatally Hurt as Car Hits Bridge
A Washburn woman died Sunday afternoon in a Monroe, Wis., hospital about two hours after the car in which she was riding crashed into a railroad overpass on Monroe's west side.
Mrs. Estella R. Johnson, 70, of 213 3rd St., Washburn, was traveling to Milwaukee, with her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Murray, after attending funeral services for her son-in-law, Joseph Murray, last Monday in Waterloo.
Driver Falls Asleep
Mrs. Murray, 41, of Milwaukee, was driving the car. She told Wisconsin authorities that she fell asleep at the wheel. Mrs. Murray suffered a cut lip in the crash.
Services Pending
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson are pending at the Chapel of Memories East where friends may call after noon Tuesday.
Estella Keister was born March 2, 1896, in Goldfield, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Keister. She married Henry Johnson there. She had been a resident of this area for 14 years, coming to Washburn from Eagle Grove. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Wesleyan Methodist Church, Waterloo.
10 Children Survive
Survivors include seven sons, Robert, with whom she had been making her home. Edward C., Webster City, Leo J., 1105 Colorado St., Ray H. and Gerald K. both of 156 Monroe St., Maj. Merle B., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Leonard C., 1300 Colorado St.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Donna) Murray, Milwaukee, Mrs. Myrtle M. Price, 327 Glenwood St., and Mrs. Faye K. Johnson, Port Arthur, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Floy E. Larsen. Fresno, Calif.; four half-brothers, Lon Kiester, 442 Manhard St., Mack and Watt Keister, both of Fresno, and Scott, Storm Lake; and 18 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two grandchildren.

Tuesday, June 14, 1966Services for Mrs. Estella R. Johnson, Washburn, who was fatally hurt in an accident near Monroe. Wis., Sunday, will be at 10 a. m. Thursday at the Wesleyan Methodist Church. The Rev. Mr. William F. Tice, associate pastor, will officiate. Committal services will be 2 p. m. at a cemetery in Goldfield. Chapel of Memories is in charge of arrangements.
