June 12, 1905 --- May 4, 1992

Ingmar Ernest Harle, 86, passed away Monday, May 4, 1992 at the Belmond Community Hospital in Belmond, Iowa.

Ingmar, son of Dr. Med Friedrich and Gabriel (Goetze) Harle, was born June 12, 1905 in Calw, Germany. He was educated, baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith as a youth in Germany. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 19, being sponsored by a farmer, near Stilson, Iowa, named Fred Zuehl, for whom he worked to pay his sponsorship. Ingmar worked a number of years for farmers in the Stilson area, including the grandmother of Mrs. Merle Larson, Mrs. John Faust.

On April 17, 1939, Ingmar was married to Mary Hughes and they started housekeeping on Wm. McDongald farm southwest of Kanawha. In 1954, they bought their present farm where they had made their home until moving to Kanawha in 1985.

Survivors include his children: James and his wife, Jackie of Kanawha, Iowa; Linda and her husband, Joe Weir of Sioux City, Iowa; Robert and his wife, Bonita, of Kanawha, Iowa; Richard and his wife, Devon of Winona, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary, who passed away August 17, 1986; four sisters and two brothers, all in Germany.
