September 16, 1911 ---- June 7, 1992

Tjeran Nerem, 80, passed away Sunday, June 7, 1992 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.

Tjeran, the son of Carl and Paulina (Tjeranson) Nerem, was born September 16, 1911 at Renwick, Iowa. He attended the Renwick school.

On December 25, 1936, he was united in marriage with Florence Lund, at the Lutheran Church in LuVerne. The couple farmed in the Renwick and Corwith area. Tjeran served with the United States Air Force during WWII. After his discharge he returned to his farming operation. In 1973, the couple moved into Kanawha where he was employed as a mechanic with Yeakel Garage, until his retirement.

He was an active member and a trustee in the Kanawha Lutheran Church and a member of the Severson American Legion Post #77 in Kanawha. He was on the building committee of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corwith. He enjoyed his family, fishing, cooking and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Lawrence and Gerhard. Survivors include his wife, Florence Nerem of Kanawha; one daughter, Kristi Nerem of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sisters: Lucille Hoveland of Webster City; Aldean Shipman of Corwith; two brothers: Selmar Nerem and his wife, Bernice of Renwick; Marvin of Longmont, Colorado; two sisters-in-law: Pearl Nerem of Renwick; Ruth Nerem of Lone Rock.
