BELMOND – Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Echelberger, 80, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the United Presbyterian Church, Dows. She died Monday (April 26, 1982) at the Belmond hospital.

The Rev. Terry Palmer will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dows. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at Willim Funeral Home, Dows.

Mrs. Echelberger was born in 1902 in Franklin County where she was raised and educated. She married Maynard Wedekin in 1923. He died in 1945. She married Adrian Echelberger in 1950 and they lived in Dows, where she was a cook at the high school for three years. The couple moved to Belmond in 1975.

Mrs. Echelberger was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Dows, Royal Neighbors and Jolly Workers.

Survivors include her husband, Adrian; one daughter, Mary Dorr, Belmond; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Thomas Jetmund, Ogden; one stepson, Vern Echelberger, Greene; seven grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; five step grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren; also, one sister, Mrs. Lillie Devenbaugh, Grand Ledge, Mich.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Echelberger, 80, of Belmond were held from the United Presbyterian Church in Dows on Wednesday, April 28 at 1:30 p. m. with Rev. Terry Palmer officiating. Burial was in the Dows Fairview Cemetery. The Willim Funeral Home in Dows was in charge. Edna died Monday, April 26 at the Belmond Hospital.

She was born in Franklin County on January 1, 1902 to Hans and Sophie Hansen. She received her education in Franklin County. In 1923 she was married to Maynard Wedekin and they lived in the Alden and Dows area until his death in 1945. On December 11, 1950 she was married to Adrian Echelberger at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Edna was a member of the
Presbyterian Church, Royal Neighbors and the Jolly Workers.

Survivors are her husband, Adrian, one daughter, Mary L. Dorr of Belmond, one step-son, Vern Echelberger of Greene, one step-daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Avonelle) Jetmund of Ogden, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are five step grandchildren, ten step greatgrandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Lillie Devenbaugh of Grand Ledge, Michigan, one foster sister, Mrs. Jens Christensen of Dows and one foster brother, Dewey Peterson of Alden.

Preceding her in death were her parents, foster parents, first husband, four foster brothers and two sisters.
