ETHEL VEST REICHTER

Ethel Vest was born near Goldfield, Iowa, on September 24, 1889, the daughter of Eldorn and Virginia Briley Vest.

She graduated from Goldfield High School in the class of 1907, and taught school for one year in a rural Goldfield school.

She was united in marriage to Walter Reichter of Goldfield on Feb. 24, 1909, and made their home on a farm west of Goldfield.

Walter died on Feb. 21, 1940. Ethel lived on the farm until moving to Goldfield in 1941, where she lived until moving to the Humboldt Care Center North, July 12, 1972.

She died there on Friday, June 28, 1985, at the age of 95 years, nine months and four days.

Ethel is survived by her son, Wendell Reichter, Goldfield; her daughter, Lorine, Mrs. Lawrence McCutcheon, Goldfield; six grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Warren and Howard; and two sisters, Lenna Clements and Mabel Knight.

Ethel was a member of the United Methodist Church, Goldfield, the Women's Society, active in packing for Goodwill, and a member of the Oakdale DOC.

Funeral services for. Ethel Vest Reichter, were held on Monday, July 1, at the United Methodist Church, Goldfield. Rev. Kenneth Peterson officiated at the 1:30 service and burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
