Daniel Burnett, an old time resident of Wright county and well known to everyone, died at his home northeast of Goldfield Thursday noon after a brief illness. He was about eighty-five years of age but continued active in home and business affairs until the time of his death. He was an active participant in the Civil War and a loyal U. S. citizen always.

The G. A. R. and the American Legion posts conducted military rites at the funeral and burial services Saturday afternoon.

The funeral services were held at the Christian church, Rev. J. S. Nicholson preaching the sermon. Burial was in the family lot at Glenwood cemetery.

Information reached here on Friday a. m. of the death of Daniel Burnett, north of town. He was a veteran of the Civil war.

He is survived by a wife and several children, three of whom now live in New York state, and other relatives and many friends.
