Glenn Howard Russell
15 September 1911 ---- 26 May 1994

Glenn Howard Russell, 82, passed away Monday, May 26, 1994, at the Belmond Community Hospital in Belmond, Iowa.

Glenn was born September 15, 1911, at Belmond, Iowa, to Albert and Zella (Young) Russell. He attended school in Belmond and graduated from Belmond High School. After graduation, he worked at various jobs in the area.

On November 24, 1938, he was united in marriage with Gladys Espe at the family farm. The couple made their home in Belmond for a time and then they moved to the family farm.

Glenn was in the plumbing business for awhile. He then worked for the John Deere Implement in Kanawha, Iowa, as a mechanic. Glenn also farmed with his brothers-in-law. After retirement Glenn continued to work at home on tractors, engines and motors. Glenn was a creative person. He liked to spend time gardening. Glenn liked the outdoors, watching the birds and taking in the nature around him. Glen was a member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys, Kanawha, Iowa; one daughter: Marcia Kreitlow and husband, Harley, Kanawha, iowa; two grandchildren: Douglas Kreitlow and wife, Diana, Kanawha, Iowa, and Patricia Kreitlow, Des Moines, Iowa; one great-grandchild, Benjamin; one sister, Doris Bonte, Belmond, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Espe and wife, Alice, Clarion, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Azile Espe, New Richland, Minnesota, and Frances Espe, Portland, Oregon; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers-in-law.
