Lenora I. (Shelton) Carpenter
October 9, 1904 --- May 28, 1995

Lenora I. Carpenter, 90, passed away Sunday, May 28, 1995, at the Kanawha Community Care Center in Kanawha.

Lenora was born on October 9, 1904 in Corwith, Iowa, to Charles and Blanche (Farrell) Shelton. She attended Corwith schools. On July 13, 1928, she was united in marriage with Lloyd Carpenter at the First Methodist Church in Garner, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Kanawha area. She liked to paint ceramic figures and also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking bread and traveling. Lenora attended the United Methodist Church in Kanawha.

Survivors include her daughter, Zeola Seagren and her husband, Arthur of Claremont, California; two sons, Merrel and his wife, Marion of Alexander, Iowa; Donald and his wife, Linda of Sun City, Arizona; two sisters, Mildred Hulberg of Sauk City, Wisconsin, and Elva Eenhuis of Forest City, Iowa; one brother, Dale Shelton of Orange City, Florida; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one infant daughter, and one brother.
