Mrs. Roth rites to be on Saturday

Mrs. John (Magdelina) Roth, 77, 22 N. Jefferson, died Thursday at a Mason City hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Major Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Roth was born Feb. 7, 1894, in Strassburg, Germany. She came to the United States in 1914 and settled in Schaller. She married John Roth, Oct. 24, 1914, in Sioux City. They lived in Good Thunder, Minn., Holland, Minn., Duncombe, Kanawha and Garner before coming to Mason City in 1943. He operated locker plants and meat markets.

Mrs. Roth is survived by three sons, George, Sabetha, Kan.; Wilbert, Seneca, Kan., and John F. Jr., Kellogg, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Margaret) Jacobson, Duncombe, and Mrs. Donald (Jeanette) Craig, Mason City; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.

The Rev. Lavern Hanson, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery, Kanawha. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dr. Larry Rush, John J. Roth, David Jacobson, Gary Roth and Jeffery Craig. Friends may call at the Major Erickson Funeral Home until time of services.
