J. A. Wallace, an old settler of Goldfield, died at his home Jan. 20th, aged 89 years and five months. He was an old soldier, a prominent member of the Methodist church and a highly respected citizen.

J. A. Wallace of Goldfield died Tuesday evening of last week at his home there. He had been in a weakened condition for some time, with no particular ailment other than advanced age. He lived to be 89 years, 5 months and 3 days.
Joseph Andrus Wallace was born in Ticonderoga, Essex county, New York, August 17, 1824. The family moved to Goldfield in 1904.

J. A. Wallace died Tuesday January 20, at the advanced age of 89 years. He was a veteran of the Civil War, an earnest Christian and a man who will be sadly missed in the home, the church and the community.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter, besides several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
