Percival Oliver KnutsonPercy O. Knutson, 74, of Aurelia, died Sunday at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee following a long illness. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Aurelia with the Rev. Ronald Kitterman officiating. Wharton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The body was cremated.
Mr. Knutson was born Nov. 1, 1910, at Thor. He married Helen Johnson in 1936, and she died in 1942. He married Ruth Little on Jan. 16, 1943, at Goldfield. The couple lived in Goldfield and Iowa Falls before moving to Ida Grove in 1954 where he managed Ida Grove Cooperative. They moved to West Okoboji in 1969, and to Aurelia in the fall of 1984.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Janyce) Wright of Remsen, Mrs. Edward (Paulette) Boger of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Conrad of Las Vegas, and Edmond of Ames; two brothers, Olaf of Thor, and Kermit of Eagle Grove; four sisters, Mrs. Dean (Esther) Smith of Des Moines, Mrs. Francis (Ione) Grandgeorge of Okoboji, Mrs. Charles (Sarah) Prehm of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Bert (Ruth) Friesth of Humboldt, and eight grandchildren.
