Larry James Kalvig
December 23, 1959 --- November 21, 2018

Larry James Kalvig, 58, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines from kidney disease. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, at Lutheran Church Of Hope in West Des Moines. Cremation will follow services.

Larry was born December 23, 1959, in Belmond, IA, to Elmer and Iola (Berkeland) Kalvig, graduated from East High School in 1978, and attended Waldorf College. Larry was co-founder and Vice President of Businessolver.

Larry was a member of The Ambassadors Gospel Quartet, Rejoice Choir and Ray of Hope Praise Band. He was active at the Des Moines Playhouse for many years. He lived his life in dedication to the Church.

Larry is survived by his life partner, Martin Haltom of Urbandale, his children, Brandi (Bryan) Voracek of Owatonna, MN, Jon (Kelly) Kalvig of Plainfield, IL, Daniel (Tyra Corona) Kalvig of San Rafael, CA, Kolbe Kalvig of West Des Moines, and Jenna (Bari Dar) Kalvig of Long Island, NY; eight grandchildren, Riley, Madi, Alexander and Kailyn Voracek, Judah, Halle and Lena Kalvig, and Xavier Corona-Kalvig; and four siblings, Dennis Kalvig of Minneapolis, MN, Timothy Kalvig of Norwalk, Carol (Ken) Calkins and Debra (Chuck) Ellsworth, both of Des Moines.

The family will receive friends from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday, November 26, at Iles-Westover Chapel. Open visitation will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, at Lutheran Church of Hope. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of Hope.
