Sarah Jane “Jennie” Talbert Pillsbury
1852 --- 2 December 1888

We sadly chronicle the death of Mrs. Jennie Pillsbury, who departed this life on Sunday, December 2d, at Colorado Springs, whither she had gone for her health. Dr. [Ambrose] Pillsbury, her afflicted husband, reached her bed side before her death, to find her sinking rapidly with typhoid fever. At the depot Tuesday they were met by a number of mourning friends, who sorrowfully followed the remains to the cemetery [Rose Hill], and there performed the usual rites of respect and affection according to the ritual of the M. E. church.

Mrs. Pillsbury was a resident of Eagle Grove for only a few weeks, hence her circle of acquaintance was limited. She was 36 years of age and leaves a family of three young children. She was a member of the Methodist church. The bereaved family has the sincere sympathy of the whole community in this hour of deepest gloom.
