They Lived and Died Together.
Clarion, March 8.—A story of the finding of the dead bodies of two sisters, Mrs. Margaret McHale, aged 90 years, and Mrs. Mary Shelly, aged 80 years, came to light today. For a number of years past they have lived together in a small house on a relative’s farm south of town. This winter they became so feeble that they were unable to work and the neighbors went every few days to attend them. Last Saturday a visit was made to the house and the old ladies were in their ordinary health. Wednesday afternoon late some one noticed no signs of life and investigated and found the bodies lying on the floor, having been dead a day or two. The coroner’s verdict said that death came from old age. It is supposed that one died naturally and the shock thus sustained proved too great for the feeble strength of the other.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows they are buried in Saint John’s Cemetery in Clarion and show that they died March 9, 1900 which does not agree with the above date.
