Alice (Klap) DelgerAlice Delger, 95, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 1995 at the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha, Iowa.
Alice, the daughter of Tybo and Henrietta (Nanninga) Klap, was born on June 15, 1900 in Felslerwalde, Netherlands. In 1918 she was united in marriage with Kort Delger at German Valley, Illinois. They farmed in the rural area around Kanawha. They were blessed with two children, Kort Delger, Jr. and Henrietta. Alice enjoyed crocheting, gardening, baking, canning and in her later years in the Kanawha Home she enjoyed crossword puzzles and her many visitors. She loved and missed her church and was a Ladies Aide member. Alice was also the last member of the Gold Star Mothers.
Alice is survived by one daughter, Henrietta Eekhoff and her husband, Pete of Kanawha; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Tom Klap of Pecatonica, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband Kort in 1969, son Kort, Jr. in 1944, her parents, two brothers, Wilbur and Ralph and one sister, Gertie (Mrs. Harm Delger).
