Mrs. Herbert Bard funeral Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Herbert Bard, 75, were held Monday afternoon in the Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Marvin Berkeland officiating.

Mrs. Bard died Friday afternoon at the Rotary Ann Infirmary where, she was a patient for a week. Previously she had been a resident of the Rotary Ann. She became gravely ill a few weeks ago.

She is survived by three sons: Harold of Eagle Grove, Richard and Stanley of Lincoln, Neb.; one brother, Selmer Knutson of the Rotary Ann Home; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd Lerdal of Belmond; and 15 grandchildren.

OBITUARY

Selle Matilda Knutson, the daughter of Eric and Selle Romseland Knutson, was born May 23, 1902 at Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She attended school at Eagle Grove.

On September 24, 1922, she was married to Herbert R. Bard of Pilot Mound at Boone. Following their marriage, they made their home in Eagle Grove. Mr. Bard died in 1976. Tillie had been a resident at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove since April 1977.

Tillie died Friday, September 30, at the Rotary Ann Home at the age of 75 years, four months and seven days.

Survivors include three sons: Harold Bard, Eagle Grove; Richard Bard and Stanley Bard, Lincoln, Neb.; a brother; Selmer Knutson, Eagle Grove; a sister Mrs. Lloyd Lerdal, Belmond; and 15 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Herbert; two sons: Merle and Donald; a daughter, Maxine; five brothers: Tandrup, Emil, Madel, Conrad, and Swardup, and a half-sister, Hannah Strom.

Tillie was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Auxiliary and Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral services, were held Monday, October 3 a t 2:30 p.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Marvin A. Berkeland officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
