Gary Orville Erickson
April 13, 1940 ---- April 6, 2020

Gary Orville Erickson, passed away at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home on Monday, April 6, 2020, after a short illness with a rare lung disease.

Gary was born near Thor, IA on April 13, 1940, to Orville and Sylvia (Larson) Erickson. He was raised on a farm near Badger and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. Gary co-owned a service station before becoming employed with Electrical Materials in 1965 where he was still employed at the time of his death. He enjoyed his cars and woodworking.

Gary is survived by his wife, Anne; two grandchildren; brothers, David (Mary Ann) Erickson of North Carolina and Brian Erickson of Marshalltown; sisters, Marilyn Keck of Colorado, Bonnie Erpelding of Algona and Barbara Muklebust of Colorado. Many nieces and nephews and a special friends Randy and Stacey Jelsma and Lyle Oberholtz.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Starla, sister Violet Carlson, brothers, John and Vernon and brothers-in-law Harold Carlson, Maurice Erpelding, Don Keck and Al Muklebust, and a sister-in-law Rose Erickson.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services is serving the family.
