Gregg Barry Stearns was born on March 17, 1941, in Rutland, Iowa, to Rollo and Cora Johnson Steams. He attended schools in Rutland through the 2nd grade and then he moved to Eagle Grove with his family in 1948, where he graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1959. He was united in marriage to Sheryl Bonney on June 1, 1963, at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. He worked at M & M Livestock Products Company as a feed mill operator for 31 years. He was a member of the United
Methodist Church in Eagle Grove, and a member of the Jaycees.

Gregg B. Stearns died Sunday, April 12, 1998, at his home in Eagle Grove at the age of 57.

Survivors include his wife, Sheryl, Eagle Grove; two daughters, Corinna Pytel, and husband, Casey, Tinley Park, Ill., and Christine Moss, and husband, John, Webster City; two grandchildren; two sisters, Gwendolyn Johnson and husband, Marvin, Jr., Eagle Grove, and Celine Wieser and husband, Wayne, Safford, Ariz.; and one brother, Gary Stearns, Eagle Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gale Stearns.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16. 1998, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Reverend William E. Ballard officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday (today), April 15, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.
