Death of Andrew Johnson
Andrew Johnson was born in Norway December 14, 1850 and died in Eagle Grove Monday, December 2d, 1895. When about 7 years old he came to this country with his parents and settled in LaCrosse Co., Wisconsin, where he resided until 1876 when he and family moved to Wright county and settled in Norway township. In 1890 he moved to this city where he remained until death. He was the father of 7 children, 4 of whom survive him. He was taken sick about 14 years ago and medical skill was powerless in his case, and as each year followed its predecessor, it found him weaker. He has been confined to his bed for about a year, yet through all his sickness was patient and looked cheerfully toward Him who doeth all things well.

He was a model husband, friend and father and all mourned with the bereaved family as they gathered around the grave which was to forever shut from them the sight of friend and parent. But his memory will ever be cherished and his patience and cheerfulness re-echo down the corridors of time to many yet unborn.

The funeral services were were held in the Lutheran Church yesterday at 2 p.m. and were conducted by Rev. Holm after which the remains were laid at rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
