Warren Vest funeral April 28

Warren Vest, 78, died Sunday evening at the Clarion Hospital where he had been admitted a short time before. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Rev. Frank Elliott, minister of the United Presbyterian Church of Goldfield, officiated. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Vest is survived by his wife, one son, Dr. Don Vest, one daughter, Mrs. Vince Saccento, and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Reichter. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Vest was a life long resident of this community and was a former employee of Wright County as shop foreman of maintenance. He retired in 1962.

Obituary

Ira Warren Vest was born in Humboldt County, Iowa, on June 7, 1892, the son of Eldoren and Virginia Briley Vest.

He attended school in the Goldfield Community School, and grew up in the Goldfield area.

He farmed for a number of years before becoming employed by Wright County. He was shop foreman of maintenance at Clarion at the time of his retirement, in 1962, at the age of 70.

He was united in marriage to Elva Loobey of Goldfield on October 1, 1913, at Goldfield.

Mr. Vest died shortly after admittance to the Clarion Community Hospital early Sunday morning. He had been in failing health for some time.

He is survived by his wife, Elva, a son, Dr. Don Vest, one daughter, Lois, Mrs. Vince Saccento, his sister, Mrs. Ethel Reichter, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
all of Goldfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Howard Vest, and two sisters, Mrs. Lenna Clements and Mrs. Mabel Knight.

He was a member of the Woodman of the World.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 28, at 2 p.m. in the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, with Rev. Frank Elliott of the United Presbyterian Church of Goldfield officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield.
