Wesley Anton Rasmussen was born September 6, 1912, the son of Hans and Hannah Thompson Rasmussen near Goldfield. He received his education in the Goldfield High School system, and graduated from Goldfield High School in 1928.

He was united in marriage to Lydia Pletcher of Goldfield July 24, 1935, at Elk Point, S.D. The couple made their home near Goldfield, until moving to Eagle Grove in 1968. He continued farming the land where they had previously lived until his retirement in 1977. Mrs. Rasmussen died August 2, 1990.

Mr. Rasmussen was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Goldfield.

Wesley Rasmussen entered Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion following a heart attack. He was transported to St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Mason City where he died. August 31[13], 1991, at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and seven days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and his brother, Alan Rasmussen.

He is survived by a son, Tony, Springfield, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Carol) Ganzeveld; Goldfield; and Mrs. Marcus (June) Mundt of Harlan; a brother, Donald, New York; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held August 15 at the United Presbyterian Church, Goldfield, with the Rev. Victor V. Victoria officiating at the 2 p.m. services. Burial was held in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
