William P. Schmidt
July 17, 1901 ---- June 4, 1942

Former Granville Man Passes on at Worthington. William Schmidt son of Mr. and Mrs. George Schmidt of Granville, passed on last Thursday, June 4th at a Worthington Minnesota hospital after blood transfusions had failed to save his life. He was 40 years and 11 months of age and his many friends deeply regret his early passing.

He was born on July 17th 1901, at Granville and attended the parochial schools at that place On July 26, 1926 he married Bertha Daggett at Clarion, Iowa, and two children, Robert 15, and Sharon Kay 2, were born to the union. He was a salesman for a Sioux City wholesale hardware and the the family resided at Charles City, Albert Lea and Worthington Minnesota.

Surviving are Mrs. Schmidt and two children, his parents, two sisters, and six brothers, namely John of Alton; Herman of Aurelia, Joseph of Detroit MI, Al of Charles City; Clarence of Sioux Falls; Rose of Terrill, Leon and Mary of Granville.

Funeral services were held on Monday morning at St. Joseph’s church Granville with burial in the parish cemetery. Rev. J. J. Dalham officiated and pall bearers were the six Brothers.
