December 7, 1842 --- July 26, 1891

Died - At her home in Concord on Sunday, July 26, Mrs. Eleanor Elder passed over the river of death. Funeral service was held at Concord Monday afternoon and burial in the Concord Cemetery.

It is with sorrow we pen the above lines. For nearly twenty years we have known Mrs. Elder as a friend and neighbor and her kind and loving ways endeared her to everyone.

Eleanor Dumond was born in Lake county, Ind., Dec. 7th, 1842. She came to Iowa with her parents in Oct. 1865, settling at Belmond, and Dec. 7, 1867 she was married to J. W. Elder. For the past fifteen years they resided at Concord and for the most of that time she has been in poor health, enduring her bodily pains with loving patience ever ready to forget her own suffering to relieve that of theirs. She well earned the tribute, a noble woman; a kind and loving wife and mother; a faithful friend. Her loving soul finds rest with God.
