Barry Knight Is Victim of Polio

Barry Knight, 23 months old son of Lt. and Mrs. James Knight is in critical condition at the Lutheran hospital in Ft. Dodge with bulbar polio. Lt. Knight is with the army in Korea.

Barry Knight died Tuesday morning at five o’clock at the Lutheran hospital at Ft. Dodge. His great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Knight of Goldfield. Funeral Services are pending while they await word from his father who is in Korea.

Attend Funeral Monday

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cross and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Boyington on Monday afternoon attended funeral services for Barry Dean, 22 months old son of Air Force Lt. and Mrs. James Knight of Goldfield. The child died of bulbar polio in a Ft. Dodge hospital. The father who has been in Korea for the past five months was flown home, arriving last Friday. Mrs. Knight has been living with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Cross near Eagle Grove. The Knights have another son, four months old.

Father Arrives For Son’s Rites

Services for a 22-month-old polio victim, Barry Dean Knight, postponed until his father’s arrival home from Korea, were held here Monday afternoon with Rev. Harrison G. Dawes, pastor of the Eagle Grove Methodist church officiating. Leonard Madison, sang, “Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” Mrs. Glenn G. Braden was organist. Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery.
