Obituary.

Sardis Judson Knight, born at Kendall, N. Y., May 5, 1834, died July 29, 1898, at his home in Lake township, aged 64 years, 2 months and 24 days. He was married October 7, 1860, to Miss Marie Davis, of Hamlin, N. Y. The union was blessed by eight children—three sons and five daughters, and besides the loving wife, two sons and three daughters are still living.

Mr. Knight moved to Wright county in 1880, where he has since resided. He was converted at Brockport, N. Y., under the labors of Elder P. A. Smith, of the Adventist faith in the year 1861; was baptized in July of the same year and united with the church at that place, and has since lived a consistent christian life, He was a charter member and Elder of the Eagle Grove Advent Christian church, which was organized in 1895. His death was from blood poison, occasioned by a barb wire scratch.

The interment was made at Riverside cemetery, Goldfield, Elder W. E. Snider, of Floyd, assisted by Elder T. Kortum, of Whittemore, conducting the funeral ceremonies. The text was taken from Second Timothy, 4:8, first clause.

Mr. Knight, an aged man living north of Holmes, was buried in the Goldfield cemetery Sunday.

J. S. Knight, a highly respected farmer who has been living near Holmes for some years, died very suddenly last week. His obituary will be found in next week’s issue.

Obituary

KNIGHT. —Died at his home in Lake Township, Friday, July 29, 1898, Sardis Judson Knight, aged 64 years, 2 months, and 24 days.

Deceased was born at Kendall, N. Y. May 5th, 1834. On October 7th, 1860, he was united in marriage to Marie Davis of Hamlin, N. Y. He was the father of eight children, three sons and five daughters, of whom two sons and three daughters, with the wife of his youth, are left to mourn his loss.

In the autumn of 1880, Mr. Knight came to Wright county, where he has since resided. He is well known through out this section and as a result of his death a large circle of friends mourn his loss and sympathize with the sorrow stricken relatives.

Mr. Knight was converted in Brockport, N. Y., under the labors of Elder P. A. Smith, of the Adventist faith, in the year 1861, was baptised in the month of July the same year and united with the church of that place. He was a charter member and elder of the Eagle Grove Advent Christian church, organized in 1895.

Funeral services were conducted at the home by Elder W. E. Snyder, of Floyd, Iowa, the text being 2 Tim. 4:8. "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord the Righteous Judge, shall give me at that day." Elder F. Kortum of Whittemore, Iowa, assisted. The remains were laid to rest in the Goldfield cemetery.
