MILLER FARMER HANGS HIMSELF

Body Is Found by Wife; Inquest Will Be Held, Officials State.

GARNER, Feb. 22. – Curtis Corwin, 39, Wednesday hanged himself at the farm he was occupying northeast of Garner, about 2½ miles east of Miller on the Alex Ross farm.

When he failed to return to house, his wife investigated and found his body in the corncrib. It was believed he had tied a rope around his neck and then jumped from a wagon. He leaves no children. Coroner F. W. Zeiger and Deputy Sheriff Leslie Brower were called and investigated. No inquest will be held as authorities stated it was clearly a case of suicide.

The victim of the suicide came this vicinity about five years ago from Clarion.

Corwin Funeral Rites Conducted at Garner

Garner, Feb. 24 - Funeral Services for Mylan Curtis Corwin, 39, were held at the First Methodist church preceded by a service at the Shanon-Bohn funeral home in charge of the Rev. T. Ernest Hoon.

Mr. Corwin was born Oct. 7, 1894, near Clarion, his early life being spent on the farm three miles southwest of Clarion. Surviving are his sisters, Mrs. Herman Heiden of Dows; Mrs. Clarence Guild of Austin, Minn.; two brothers, Dewey of Garner and Earl of Grand Junction. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery at Clarion.

Former Resident Suicides

The Garner papers carried news last week of the death of Curtis Corwin, 39, of Garner, who took his life by hanging. Mr. Corwin with his wife occupied a farm, northeast of Garner, about 2½ miles east of Miller. The deceased was born and lived in Lincoln township up to five years ago when he moved to Garner.
