Kenneth Francis Cole

Kenneth Francis Cole was born January 31, 1902, the son of Francis and Barbara Hrabak Cole at Eagle Grove. He received his education in the Eagle Grove school system and graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in 1920. He then enrolled a Grinnell College, graduating in 1924. He was united in marriage to Lois Peterson on April 16, l925 at Blue Earth, Minn. They made their home in Wells, Minn., for two yeas. While in Minnesota, he was employed as a bookkeeper. The couple then moved to Eagle Grove, and he went into business with his father and uncle at Cole's Meat Market. He later owned and operated the family business until selling it in 1951, at which time he began farming. He retired in 1962.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ, the Masons (Bower Lodge No. 464), the Wright County Shrine, and the El Kahir Shrine, Cedar Rapids.

Kenneth Cole died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion September 1, 1992 at the age of 90 years, seven months, and one day. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. James (Susan) Sebby of Clarion; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a brother, Dr. Clyde Cole of Rockford, 1ll.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 4 at the United Church of Christ with the Rev. Scott C. Hall officiating at the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
