Alma F. Knight was born on December 20, 1904 at Renwick, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Christian Helmke. She received her education and graduated at Renwick High School. She continued her education at the Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She was united in marriage to Clyde Daniel Knight on April 7, 1927 at Renwick. The couple made their home in Des Moines where he drove a bread truck. They then moved to the Goldfield area and took over the family farm from his father. She and her husband then moved to Wadena, Minn. for a time before relocating to Des Moines. Before retiring in 1986, they had lived in St. Louis Park, Minn. They entered the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. Mr. Knight died there on November 6, 1991 and had attained the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 27 days.

Alma F. Knight died at Rotary Ann Nursing Home on December 29, 1994 and was 90 years and 9 days old. She was a long-time member of The Goldfield United Methodist Church and the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Evelyn Kraemer and her husband, Arnum of Minnetonka, Minn.; her brother-in-law, Gerald Knight of Rowan; three grandchildren, Steven Kent, Bruce Alan, and Jeffrey Scott of Cambridge, Ill.; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, James Bradley, in 1962 and two great-grandchildren, Berry Dean and Bradley Joel; five brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 2, 1995 at The United Methodist Church in Goldfield. Reverend James Rozendaal officiated the 1 p.m. service. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield, Iowa.

Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
