Howard Vest, 69, of Dakota City died at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines on Nov 16. Funeral services were held in the Lutheran church in Humboldt with burial in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Mr. Vest had been in failing health for several years. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Donald of Iowa City and Howard of St. Louis, Mo. and a daughter, Mrs. John Klover of Santa Monica, Calif., and 4 grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs. Lenny Clemons of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Ethel Reichter and one brother Warren of Goldfield.Eagle Grove Eagle --- Eagle Grove, Iowa

Rites Held Friday for Howard Vest
Howard Vest, 69-year old retired Humboldt trucker, passed away Tuesday night at the Veterans' Hospital at Des Moines. He was a veteran of World War I and served in the army in France.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Humboldt conducted by Pastor L. C. Jenson. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Lindhart Funeral Home.
Mr. Vest is survived by his wife, Sarah: two sons, Howard Vest of St. Louis, Mo., and Donald Vest of Iowa City; one daughter, Mrs. Jon Klover of Los Angeles, Calif.; four grandchildren; one brother, Warren Vest, Goldfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Reichter, Goldfield, and Mrs. Lenna Clements of Eagle Grove.
Mr. Vest married Sarah Skorpen at Dakota City in 1931. They resided for a time in Webster City, then moved to Dakota City where they had lived the past 30 years. For a number of years Mr. Vest was engaged in general trucking.
Mr. Vest was born and reared in Goldfield.
