Pioneer Resident of Wright County Dies in Cherokee Hospital
GOLDFIELD—Funeral services for Oliver Kelling, 56, who died the hospital at Cherokee on Friday were held at the Kubitschek and Kastler funeral home at Eagle Grove on Sunday afternoon. The Rev. John Haupt, pastor of the United Presbyterian church was in charge of services. Burial made in the family lot at Glenwood cemetery.
Mr. Kelling was a pioneer Wright county resident having resided in this vicinity all his life.
He is survived by his widow and one son, Faye, a junior in the local high school.
He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Henry and Ella Kelling of Ledyard, Al of Spokane, Wash., Ed and Arthur Kelling and Mrs. Jay Knight of Goldfield, Walter of Clarion, George of Killdeer, N. Dak. and Mrs. Eliza Aldrich of Marshalltown.

Kelling Funeral Held SundayOliver Kelling, 57, died at Cherokee Feb. 16, following an illness of several months. He is survived by his wife and one son, Faye. Funeral services were held at the Kubitschek & Kastler Funeral Home Sunday afternoon in Eagle Grove, with Rev. John Haupt of the United Presbyterian church in charge of the services.
Out of town people at the funeral were Miss Ella Kelling, Henry Kelling, and Jerry Kelling of Ledyard, Walt Kelling and Glenn Kelling of Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. John Kelling of Renwick, Charles Mantle of Ames, Mrs. Nellie Mum of Kanawha, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Pardun of Clarion and Mrs. A. B. Beisell Mrs. Dave Lester, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Anderson of Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. George Heard, Marion Lester, Mrs. Ora Lester of Eagle Grove, John Lester of Ledyard, and Clarke Lester of Thornburg.
Obituary
Oliver Kelling was born to George and Mary Kelling March 4, 1883, at Goldfield, Iowa. He died at Cherokee, Iowa, Feb. 16, 1940, following several months' illness.
On Oct. 27, 1919, he was married to Elizabeth Lester. To this union one son, Faye, was born.
Besides his wife and son, he leaves to mourn his passing, six brothers: Henry of Ledyard, Al of Spokane, Wash., George of Killdeer, N. D., Walter of Clarion and Ed and Art of Goldfield; three sisters, Ella Kelling of Ledyard, Eliza Aldrich of Marshalltown and Maude Knight of Goldfield. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; one brother, John of Max, N. D., and two sisters, Mrs. Dan Stevenson and Mrs. John McCutcheon of Goldfield.
His memory will be precious to his surviving relatives and to his many friends.
The funeral was held at the Kubitschek & Kastler Funeral Home in Eagle Grove Sunday afternoon. Rev. John Haupt was in charge of the services and the male quartette of the local United Presbyterian church sang. Interment was made in Glenwood cemetery.
