WOMAN, 63, DIES AT EAGLE GROVE

Mrs. Roscoe Samuels Funeral Services to Be Held Sunday

EAGLE GROVE—Mrs. Roscoe Samuels, 63, died at her residence, north of Goldfield.

Funeral services will be held the Christian church in Goldfield Sunday. Burial will be made in Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield by Wilson of Eagle Grove.

Surviving are her husband two sons, Floyd B., at Humboldt, and Glenn R., in Goldfield.

Conduct Rites for Mrs, Roscoe Samuels at Church on Sunday

GOLDFIELD—Funeral services will be held at the Christian church here on Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Roscoe Samuels, 63, died at her farm home near here on Thursday.

She is survived by her husband and two sons, Floyd of Humboldt and Glenn of Goldfield.

Funeral Held Sunday for Mrs. Samuels

Mrs. Roscoe Samuels died at her farm home here Thursday following a lingering Illness. Mrs. Samuels had been seriously ill for several weeks preceding her death. She was well known to a large number of rural friends of the Thrall community, as well as many others. She leaves to mourn her immediate family, her husband, Roscoe Samuels, and two sons, Floyd and Glenn, as well as many other relatives and scores or friends.

Funeral services, which were held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon, were conducted by Rev. J. C. Harris. Burial was in the Glenwood cemetery.

Obituary

Celestia Knight Samuels, daughter of Thomas L. and Hannah E. Knight was born in Traer, Iowa, Oct. 19, 1877, and died at her home near Goldfield, Oct. 31, 1940, after a long and painful illness.

She came with her parents to this community in 1891. She was married to Roscoe Samuels Jan. 13, 1897. Two sons, Floyd B. and Glen R. with her husband, mourn the loss, of a devoted mother and companion. There are also five grandchildren and three brothers and three sisters besides 27 nieces and nephews. The brothers are Fred, Thomas, and Jay Knight, all of Goldfield. The sisters are Mrs. Margaret Robinson of Mason, Mich., Mrs. Lottie Miller of Ada, Minn., and Mrs. Nellie Leach of Dixon, Ill.

Mrs. Samuels united with the Methodist church at the age of 18. She has been a member of the Missionary Society of the local Christian church, and also of the Goldfield Rebekah Lodge.

The relatives have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in the passing of this good woman from the community, which has so long been her home.

The funeral was at the home at 1:30 and at the Christian church at 2:00, Sunday, Nov. 3.

Rev. J. C. Harris, minister of the Christian church, was in charge of the services. The Rebekah Lodge conducted the burial service at the grave.

Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Samuels and son and Mrs. Oliver Windrath attended the funeral service of Mrs. Roscoe Samuels held at the Church of Christ in Goldfield Sunday afternoon.
