E. W. Hudson services Thursday at 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral home for E. W. Hudson who died on Sunday at a Springfield, Mo. hospital. Hudson who made his home at Hollister, Mo. was ill only a short time.

Hudson was born Sept. 10, 1914 in [Beebe, Custer county] Montana. He was married to the former Allene Helbach, Goldfield. Hudson was employed from 1938 through 1968 by the Gulf Oil Company in Venezuela. Hudson and his wife lived two years in the Shaw-Hudson apartments on North Lincoln while building a new home in Hollister. Mrs. Hudson is the daughter of the late Mrs. Walsie Shaw. Burial will be in the Glenwood cemetery, Goldfield.

Services for Edwin W. Hudson, 65, Hollister, will be at 2 p.m. today in Whelchel Chapel, Branson, with the Rev. Duane Mohling officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa. Mr. Hudson, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Cox Medical Center, Springfield, after a short illness. Surviving is his wife, Allene. Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross.

Edwin William Hudson, 65, passed away Sunday morning, December 16, 1979, at Cox Medical Center, Springfield, Mo., after several months of illness.

Edwin was born September 10, 1914, to Lee and Freida Kluver Hudson in Beebe, Montana. He attended school in Miles City, Montana. In 1937 he worked on the Fort Peck, Montana Dam. From there he went to work for the Gulf Oil Company, where he started out as heavy equipment operator on the pipe line and worked his way up so when he retired he was area supervisor. He worked for the Gulf Oil Company from 1938 thru 1970. He worked first in Venezuela from 1938-1967. Then was transferred to New Orleans where he worked from 1968 until his retirement in 1970.

From there they moved to Hollister, Mo. where he built their new home by himself. Edwin was united in marriage to Allene Helbach of Eagle Grove, Iowa, on February 20, 1946 in Miles City, Montana. He was in the US Army from 1943-1946, during WWII, in the Army Corps of Engineers, in the Pacific Theater. He was active with the Coast Guard Auxiliary since 1977. He was a Life member of the Elks, Miles City, Montana, Life member of Numismatic Association, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary; Branson Frotilla number 51.

He is survived by his wife, Allene, Hollister, Mo.; one brother, John O. Smith, Ridgecrest, Calif.; four sisters: Loretta Jacobson and Laverne Simpson of Sand Point, Idaho, Lee Dadigan, Las Vegas, Betty Hoskins, Los Angeles, Calif.; Preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Funeral services were held in Whelchel Funeral Chapel, Branson, Mo., Tuesday, Dec. 18, 1979, 2 p.m. Officiating was Rev. Duane Mohling. Graveside services were held Dec. 20, 1979, 11 a.m. at the Glenwood cemetery, Goldfield. Rev. Kenneth Reiter officiated. Kastler Babcock DeYoung was in charge.
