Rites Held For Merrel Manning

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock for Merrel M. Manning, 73, of Clarion. Services were at the Eyler Funeral Home with the Rev. Halvorsen of Eagle Grove officiating. Burial was at the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield.

Mr. Manning died Wednesday, Mar. 27 at University Hospital in lowa City after a lengthy illness. He moved to Wright County, Iowa in 1910 where he spent most of the remainder of his life farming near Holmes. For the last several years he lived In Clarion.

He is survived by two sons, Gerald of Eagle Grove, Harold of Webster City; six grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Effie Temple of Arthur, Illinois, Nellie Licklider of Goldfield, Iowa, one brother, Wilmer Manning of Marcus. Iowa.

Following the funeral services for Merrel Manning on Saturday lunch was served at the Raymond Thompson home for relatives and friends by Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Romsey, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Art Peterson.
