4 July 1797 --- 16 March 1873

At the residence of S. B. Hewett, passed on March 17th, 1873, Allen Hewitt, aged 75 years, 8 months and 13 days. Mr. Hewett was born at Sutton, Mass. on July 4th, 1791, and removed to Wright county about three years ago, where up to the time of his death, he has lived with his nephew, Judge Hewett of Eagle Grove, He was much respected by all who knew him.
