EVERETT W. MCCUTCHEON
Everett W. McCutcheon was born on October 10, 1913, in rural Eagle Grove, Iowa, to William H. and Alma Besse Beisell McCutcheon. He attended the Evergreen Country School, graduating in 1931 from Goldfield School. In 1933, he graduated from the Eagle Grove Junior College. He was united in marriage to Burnis DeWinter on November 21, 1935. Following the death of Burnis, he married Constance Carr on September 12, 1958, at Humboldt, Iowa. He farmed in the Evergreen area. He was on the Goldfield School Board. He was president of the School Board when the school was built in 1957. He was a member of the Evergreen Sporting Association as a Junior member and Senior member until the time that the association disbanded. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Goldfield and served on various committees and duties.
Everett W. McCutcheon died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, Eagle Grove; two daughters, Beverly Jacobson, and husband, Paul, Eagle Grove, and Barbara Dodge, and husband, Russell, Eagle Grove; two granddaughters; two grandsons; five great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Burnis, in February 1954; son, William in 1947 (1946); and a sister, Margaret Oviatt.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, in Goldfield with the Reverend Karen Dearchs officiating. Burial was held in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.
Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
