Death Calls Miss Mary Leetun

Miss Mary Leetun died at her home on North Wright Street, Tuesday, Dec. 27. Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Friday afternoon, Dec. 30 from the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church.

Miss Mary Leetun was born on August 17, 1852, at Leethun, Ostersoen, Bergen, Norway, and died in her home on North Wright St., Dec. 27, 1932, age 80 years, four months and 10 days.

She was baptized into Christ in infancy, reared in a Christian home, instructed, and confessed her Christian faith. As a young woman she worked for some years in Bergen, Norway.

At about the age of 28 years she came to U. S. A. to La Salle county, Ill., where her brother had come before her. Later she came to Eagle Grove, Iowa, where she lived continuously until her death. She never married, and is now survived by one brother, Lars Leetun of Lamoni, Ia. and one brother Knut Leethun of the old home place In Norway. She is also survived by the children of three departed sisters, one of them, the late Mrs. Rasmus Vevle of Eagle Grove, and other relatives.

Mary Leetun was a quiet and friendly personality, very faithful in her duties. She did not want to be a bother or a burden to anyone. She loved her Saviour and was faithful to her church.

Funeral services Friday afternoon, Dec. 30 at 2 o'clock from the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church.
