Mrs. Nellie Lindaas, the daughter of Martin and Johanna Anderson Weltha, was born on Dec. 28, 1892 near Hardy, Iowa. She grew up on a farm near Hardy and received her education in the rural schools. In 1907, the family moved to Eagle Grove. She was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Hardy. On Oct. 4, 1922, she was united in marriage with John Alfred Lindaas at Eagle Grove. The couple farmed near Thompson, Iowa, then moved to a farm near Thor and then to Eagle Grove. Mr. Lindaas died in 1967. She was a long-time member of the Lutheran Church.

For the past several years, she had been a resident of the Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge. She died at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge on Wednesday night, Aug. 10, 1983, at the age of 90 years, seven months and 12 days.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Agnes Pressler of Eagle Grove; five grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren; a sister, Miss Clara Weltha of the Villa Care Center at Fort Dodge and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Milford; a brother and four sisters and one granddaughter.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Lindaas, were held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 1963 at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Kenneth Torvik officiated and burial was to the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Friday.
