Frances Amy Naifeh
March 30, 1923 --- October 25, 2019Frances Amy Naifeh, 96, of Burlington, Iowa passed away at 7:45 AM Friday, October 25, 2019, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born March 30, 1923, in Iowa, she was the daughter of George and Mae Johnston Moore. On September 1, 1943, she married Rudy Naifeh in Wichita, Kansas. Rudy passed away on April 6, 2018.
She was the owner and operator of Naifeh's Meat Market with her husband for over 30 years.
Frances was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Her favorite color was red and she enjoyed talking to other people with who came to the store. Frances enjoyed all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and traveling with her husband.
Survivors include her two sons, Nap (Becky) Naifeh of Burlington and Tom (Karen) Naifeh of Marco Island, FL; two grandchildren, Eric and Natalie (Todd Carlson); four great-grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Tristan and Riley and several nieces and nephews. Besides her beloved husband, Frances was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jim Moore, and three sisters, Elizabeth, Colleen and Alison.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Private internment will be on the family plot at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Great River Hospice House and Great River Klein Center.

Frances Amy Naifeh, 96, of Burlington, passed away at 7:45 AM Friday, October 25, 2019, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born March 30, 1923, in Dows, Iowa, she was the second daughter of George Thomas and Mae Alice Johnston Moore.
She was a graduate of Dows High School, and attended Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She moved to Fort Madison for a job opportunity in the grocery business, working for George and Rose Naifeh.
On September 1, 1943, she married Rudy Naifeh in Wichita, Kansas. Rudy passed away on April 6, 2018.
Fran was the owner and operator of Naifeh's Meat Market with her husband for over 30 years, and often was the official holder of infants and small children while their parents shopped at the store.
Frances was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Her favorite color was red and she enjoyed talking to other people who came to the store. Frances loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and traveling with her husband.
Survivors include her two sons, Nap (Becky) Naifeh of Burlington and Tom (Karen) Naifeh of Marco Island, FL; two grandchildren, Eric of Dallas, TX, and Natalie (Todd Carlson) of Houston, TX; four great-grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Tristan and Riley and several nieces and nephews including Michelle Reif of Burlington. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Marjorie Moore of Clarion, Iowa.
Besides her beloved husband, Frances was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James R. Moore Sr., and three sisters and spouses, Elizabeth Worden (Don), Alice Richardson (Ken), and Colleen Nelson (Gus).
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Private interment will be on the family plot at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Great River Hospice House and Great River Klein Center. Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
