Wm. H. Paskin Funeral Today

William H. Paskin, 78, died at his home north of town early Monday morning. Mr. Paskin has not been well for the past year but had not been seriously sick until Friday of last week. He is survived by seven children, four daughters, Mrs. Sam Douglas of Clarion, Mrs. Adolph Carlson of Kanawha, Mrs. John Sheets and Miss Jane Paskin and three sons, Virgil Paskin of Kanawha and Will and Robert at home.

Funeral services will be held at the home at one o'clock today and at two o'clock at the Methodist church at Renwick.

W. H. Paskin, who lived north of Goldfield, died Tuesday morning at his home. Funeral services are being held today at the Renwick Methodist church at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Paskin was well know here as he is a brother-in-law of John Cameron.

Obituary of Wm. H. Paskin

William H. Paskin was born in Tipton Staffordshire, England, on Sept. 9, 1857, and passed from this life on Oct. 15, 1935.

He attended the day school at Tipton Wesleyan in 1865. He was Baptized in the Methodist, church in England and was the oldest son of William and Jane Paskin. He had two brothers and two sisters, one brother and one sister having preceded him in death.

At the age of nine he came with his parents to America to Cleveland, Ohio, where the family lived for 1½ years. They later moved to Moingona, Iowa. He worked when a young man in the coal mines at Boone, where his brother, Thomas was killed. In 1881 they moved to a farm north of Goldfield in which he and his brother, Ben, were partners. In 1884 he moved to his own farm. On Oct. 14, 1891, he was united in marriage to Anne Dey, and eight children were born to this union, Robert, William, Jane, Ethel, Susan, Lillian, Ruth and Virgil. All are living with the exception of Susan who died in 1926. Mrs. Paskin died March 17, 1921.

About four years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis and continued in failing health.

He was taken with an attack of influenza about a week ago and after several hours of intense suffering death came as a relief.

He was a pioneer resident of the community and took an active part in the life of Boone township. He was justice of the peace for a number of years, and also constable.

He is survived by seven children, one brother and 29 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the M. E. church in Renwick on Thursday afternoon and burial was in the Goldfield cemetery.

Pioneer Farmer Buried Thursday

A number of Goldfield residents attended the funeral services for William H. Paskin, pioneer Wright county farmer, at the Methodist church at Renwick last Thursday afternoon. Mr. Paskin, who was 78 years old, died at his home six miles north of Goldfield last Tuesday, following a long period of Illness. About four years ago he suffered a stroke from which he failed to recover and several weeks ago an attack of influenza led to his death. He was born in Tipton, England, coming to this country when a youth and working in the coal mines near Boone for nearly forty years. Then he moved to the farm north of Goldfield and made his home there. Seven children survive their father. They are Mrs. Sam Douglas of Clarion, Mrs. Adolph Carlson of Kanawha, Mrs. J. B. Sheets, Miss Jane, William Jr., and Robert of Goldfield, and Virgil of Kanawha.

The passing of Mr. Paskin has caused great sorrow among his friends and acquaintances and sympathy is extended his bereaved family.
