The people of our city and community were greatly shocked last Friday when news arrived of the serious accident that befell Nels Jensen, 35, a farmer living north east of town.

Not now, but in the coming years,
It may be in the better land,
We'll read the meaning of our tears,
And there, sometime, we'll understand.

We'll know why clouds instead of sun
Were over many a cherished plan;
Why song has ceased, when scarce begun;
'Tis there, sometime, we'll understand.

NELS JENSEN FATALLY HURT FRIDAY P.M.

Calf Jumping out of Bob Sled Box Took Jensen Out With Him, Fracturing His Skull.

The entire community was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Nels Jensen on Friday afternoon. Mr. Jensen was hauling a calf home from Freeman Pinder's in a bob sled and the calf started to jump out and knocked Mr. Jensen out at the some time. Apparently it must have landed on his head, with its hoofs, as his skull was fractured. Harry Stevenson was near when the accident happened and took him to Pinder's. Dr. Bassinger was summoned and he said that there was nothing to do for him. It was decided to take him to Eagle Grove for an X-ray picture, but he died before they were able to get there.

The death of Mr. Jensen is especially sad as he leaves four orphan children, the oldest eleven years old. Mrs. Jensen died over three years ago. No arrangements for the care of the children been completed yet.

Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church Monday afternoon with Rev. R. M. McCracken in charge of the service. Burial was held at the Glenwood cemetery.
