GOLDIE RUSK, 89, Eagle Grove, died Friday, Nov 8, 2002 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Carter officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.

Goldie Anna McNamee, daughter of Thomas and Minnie Reinke McNamee, was born Nov. 5, 1913 on a farm north of Hartley, Iowa. She Attended Hartley Independent School District, graduating in 1932. She continued her education at the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, receiving a BA in primary education. She taught at the Hull Public School for 8 years and for 9 years at Carpenter, Wahkonsa, and Hawley schools in Fort Dodge. On June 28, 1953, she married Forrest Porter Rusk at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple farmed in the Mulberry Center area, northeast of Webster City until June of 1998, when they moved to the Rotary Ann Apartments in Eagle Grove. Mr. Rusk died Oct 4, 1998. She moved to the Rotary Ann Care Center in December of 2001.

Mrs. Rusk is survived by a niece and her husband, Karen and Richard Kranz of Watertown, S.D.; nephew and his wife, Dan and Amanda Rusk of Reno, Nev.; five great nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Aleta Rossotti of Atwater, Calif. and Dorothy Rusk of Mesa, Ariz.; also several cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ethel McNamee.

She had taught Sunday school and summer bible school at the Methodist church at Hartley for several years. She served as secretary for various PTA organizations in Fort Dodge. She taught bible school at the Mulberry Center EUB Church. Was secretary for the Mulberry Center Helping Hands for several years. She served in various offices with the Blairsburg Township Farm Bureau Women's group. She was a member of the Stonega Community Club. She served as secretary for the United Methodist Women of Fort Dodge District and the District Nominating Committee for several years.
