DEATH CALL COMES TO MRS. I. D. MCVICKER

Passes Away Tuesday Night In Christensen Nursing Home In Sheffield, Iowa.

Mrs. Ira D. McVicker, 82, died in the Christensen Nursing Home in Sheffield about 11 o'clock Tuesday evening.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow, (Friday) afternoon at o'clock at the Methodist church in this city with the Rev. C. W. Tompkins officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in Rose Hill cemetery.

Three children survive, Claude, of Eagle Grove, Glenn of Hampton, Rev. Roy H. McVicker of Denver, Colorado.

All will be here for the funeral, the Rev. Roy McVicker arriving this morning. A complete obituary will appear in our next issue.

FLORELLA ELMA HIATT

Florella Elma Hiatt was born on May 12, 1862 at Winchester, Ind. She moved to Kansas in 1871. She attended the Kansas State Normal school of Fort Scott, Kansas, and taught in the public schools in Kansas and Iowa. She was married on March 13, 1883 at Fort Scott, Kansas, to Ira D. McVlcker, who preceded her in death November 20, 1938. She moved with her husband to Ree Heights, S. D., in 1883, where their three children were born, Claude of Eagle Grove, Glen of Hampton, and Roy of Denver. Besides these three who survive her are 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Lulu Blair of Spring Hill, Kansas, and a brother, Lincoln Hiatt of Vancouver, Wash.

She was a member of the Methodist church, the Troy Culture club, and the Eastern Star. She was a good Christian woman, a faithful wife, a devoted mother and a kind neighbor, alert and active in community interests and greatly beloved by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. C. W. Tompkins in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
