MYRTLE JESSIE ANDERSON
Myrtle Jessie Orsland was born January 9, 1908, the daughter of Jens and Anna Berg Orsland on the family farm near Thor, Iowa. She received her education in the Eagle Grove School System and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1926. She worked for Martin's Food Store in Eagle Grove. She was united in marriage to Arthur C. Anderson in 1932 at Eagle Grove. She was a homemaker following her marriage. She then worked for Wood Brothers Electric and later Larsen's Plumbing and Heating in Eagle Grove. For 14 years prior to her retirement, she was employed at Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge.

She entered the Rotary Ann Nursing Home, Eagle Grove, in October, 1990. She was a lifelong member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, the ladies aide of the church, the sewing club, and was church secretary for six years.

Myrtle Jessie Anderson died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion on March 25, 1996, at the age of 88 years, 2 months, and 16 days. Survivors include her daughter, Bernadine Baker and husband George, Mason City, four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arthur.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 28, 1996 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Lyle Peters officiating the 3 p.m services. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home. Inc. of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
