G. C. McVicker Rites Held Sunday
Chester Mc Vicker, 84, was found dead at his home Friday morning, Aug. 15. Mr. McVicker had not been well for some time and his death was due to a heart attack suffered during the night.
Mr. Vicker is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. Edith Horton of Clarion, Mrs. Charles Rounds of New Hartford, and Archie McVicker of Richwood, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral home with the Rev. Clarence W. Tompkins in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. John Shoenhair and Mrs. Oscar Mellgren, with Mrs. George DeForest accompanist. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
George Chester McVicker was the son of David and Ellen McVicker and was born Dec. 3, 1862, in Henry, Ill. He was married in 1886 to Eva Pettecrew, and then moved to Ree Heights, S. D., where they resided for three years. Fifty-six years ago they moved to Eagle Grove, where they farmed for a time then moved to town. Mr. McVicker operated a dray line here for many years.
He was united with the Methodist church in this city in 1896.
He leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters, Mrs. Edith Horton of Clarion, Mrs. Chas. Rounds of New Hartford, and one son Archie McVicker of Richwood, Ohio. Also, 17 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Aug. 17th at the Kastler Funeral Home and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Those present from out of town for the funeral were: Mrs. Edith Horton of Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. Archie McVicker and daughter Mrs. Richard Clark of Richwood, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Rounds of New Hartford, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Grandgeorge and Elwood Williams of Iowa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Horton of Woolstock, Ralph Rounds of Green, Mr, and Mrs. Wayne Withers and Mr. and Mrs. Todd Withers of Webster City.
