Word has been received that former resident and postmaster of Renwick, Roger McCormick, died March 8.

Roger Eugene McCormick was born Feb. 14, 1921, near Eagle Grove, Iowa, the son of Eugene and Clara Roseland McCormick.
He received his education in the Eagle Grove public schools, graduating in the class of 1938.
Roger farmed with his parents in the years preceding his entry into the armed forces of the United States, enlisting in the Army Air Corps in 1943 and serving until 1945.
He was united in marriage to Madonna Hoffer of Cedar Falls, Iowa, on March 25, 1944 at Amarillo, Texas. The couple returned to the Renwick area and farmed north of Renwick from 1945 to 1965, when he became the Postmaster of Renwick. He served in this capacity until retiring in 1982, and moving to Sun City West, Arizona.
Roger became ill in 1983 and was in the hospital in Arizona before coming to Eagle Grove to make their home in November 1983. He entered the hospital at Fort Dodge and was transferred to the Marian Home just two days before his death on March 8, 1984 at the age of 63 years and 26 days.
He is survived by his wife, Madonna; two sisters, Phyllis, Mrs. Al Strain, and Lois Gearhart both of Eagle Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roger was a member of the National Postmasters of America, and the American Legion.
Funeral services were held on Sat., March 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Fr. Paul Peters officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
Rosary service was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home at 7:30 on Friday evening
