MRS. RAY BALDNER DIED FRIDAY A. M.

Death Takes Bride of Less Than a Year After 36 Hour Illness.

Mrs. Ray Baldner died at her home in this city Thursday morning, May 1st, at 4:30 a. m. She had been ill but thirty-six hours. Prior to her fatal illness she had appeared to be in perfect health. A perforated ulcer of the small intestine was the cause of her sudden death. There is nothing the medical science can do or which was not tried to save the life of Mrs. Baldner, but all attempt were unsuccessful and she died after being unconscious for many hours. The funeral services were held in the Sacred Heart church Monday morning and burial was in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Baldner was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Cooke. She was educated in the Sacred Heart schools of this city, graduating with the class of 1919. After graduation she worked a few months in Dr. Strane's dental office and in the fall was successful in a civil service examination and was appointed assistant in the local postoffice, resigning her position a few months after her marriage.

She was very kindly and obliging in her dealings with the public and there is universal sorrow in her passing. But a month ago her home was gladdened by the birth of a baby boy, which has been named Richard Cooke Baldner.

Protestants and Catholics crowded Sacred Heart church Monday to pay final tribute to one who was high in their esteem. She numbered her cordial friends and acquaintances by the hundreds and all feel an irretrievable loss in her death.

Death is inevitable and must come to all of us sooner or later, but the saddest of all is when a young wife and mother is called just at the time she is entering the threshold of a life devoted to the care of the young life which had just been placed in her hands.
