James Weddell
May 26, 1942 ---- August 24, 2019

James "Jim" Weddell, age 77 of Boone, passed away, Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa.

James Douglas Weddell, was born on the farm on May 26, 1942 in Sac City, Iowa, the son of Frank and Mary (Hansen) Weddell. The family moved to Clarion, Iowa where Jim graduated from high school in 1960 and began to work in the plumbing and heating field. On January 18, 1963, he married Diana (Davison) in Clarion. Jim and Diana moved to Boone in 1966, where they raised their two children and continued his plumbing and heating career until retirement.

From an early age, Jim loved working on all things mechanical including restoring vehicles and welding yard art for family. He loved all dogs and one cat having special four-legged companions throughout his life. Jim enjoyed traveling in the mountains taking many trips to Colorado in younger years and Alaska in retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Bill Sundell and nephew, Ryan Sundell.

Jim is survived by his wife, Diana of Boone; two children, Michael (Jamie) Weddell of Wasilla, Alaska and Jana (Randy) Stambaugh of Stanchfield, Minnesota; a sister, Janene (Leroy) Nelson of Pocahontas; two grandchildren, Chelsea (Ben) Wickman and Katie Weddell, and five great-grandchildren.

Per Jim’s request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boone Area Humane Society or to the charity of your choice.
