Elizabeth “Bettye” Moberly, 85, of Webster City died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Van Diest Medical Center. The viewing will be Tuesday at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City from 5:30-7:30 PM. Her Memorial Service (with the urn present) will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. Burial will be in Cass Cemetery.
Bettye was born September 12, 1928 to David & Mary (Vit) Ertl in Fort Dodge, IA. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Fort Dodge in 1946. She married Maris M. Moberly on November 18, 1948 in Fort Dodge, IA. She was a telephone operator in Fort Dodge for two years. From 1966 to 1991, Bettye worked at Electrolux in Webster City. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary & St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church all of Webster City.
Her family includes six children & spouses: Pam (Jim) Burnett of Webster City, Pat (Mel) Wilson of Prescott Valley, AZ, Paul Moberly of Glendora, CA, Paris (Don) McNelly of Webster City, Price (Kay) Moberly of Williams & Penny (Kathy Wilson) Moberly of Elkhart, IA; ten grandchildren: Robert Burnett, Ryan Burnett, Adam Wilson, Dustin Burnett, Perry Moberly, Paige Moberly, Elizabeth Sturgill, Preston Moberly, Parker Moberly and Jaxon McNelly; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters: Mona (George) Drown & Margaret Laird all of Fort Dodge and Nancy Horstmeyer of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; two brothers; Jim (Barb) Ertl of Fort Dodge, Charlie (Judy) Ertl of Phoenix, AZ; sister in law Brenda Ertl of Knoxville, IA.
Preceding her in death are her husband; grandson Brandon Burnett; brothers: David, Jack, & Jerry; and sisters: Veronica Lunn, Joyce Ashton and Frances Menefee. Memorials may be directed to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
