ALICE MARY MENTZER
Alice Mary O'Toole was born September 14, 1905, to Thomas J. and Mary Collins O'Toole in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1923. She received her degree from Rosary College at River Forest, Ill., in 1927. She taught in Kankakee, Ill., part of one year. She was then employed at the Security Savings Bank in Eagle Grove until her marriage to Julius Albrecht in 1957. He died in 1960. She married Francis Mentzer in 1963. They lived in Clarion, Iowa, and Eagle Grove. He died in 1991.

She has been a resident of Rotary Ann Retirement Home and Nursing Home since 1986. She was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove and was active in choir. She was a past Regent of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, member of A Sharp Music Club, Bridge Club, and Rotary Ann Auxiliary.

Alice Mary Mentzer died Thursday, November 9, 2000, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 95. She is survived by her brother, Gerald O'Toole of Seaside, Ore.; and one sister, Isabel Thielen of Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Father Thomas O'Toole, Dr. Lawrence O'Toole, and Dr. Roger O'Toole; and one sister, Eileen Schoenahl.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 11, 2000, at 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Father David Beckman officiating. Burial was held in the Calvary Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
