Cornelia Esther Bergreen Allbaugh
12 September 1896 --- 11 September 1983

Mrs. Cornelia Esther Allbaugh, the daughter of Olaf Christian and Jennie Carlson Bergreen, was born at Renville, Minn, on Sept. 12, 1896. Her family moved to Canada, and she attended school at Osage, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was married to Roland Allbaugh of Lake City, Iowa on Feb. 21, 1917 in Canada. After their marriage, the couple moved to Lake City, Iowa, where they lived until 1934, when they moved to Eagle Grove, where they owned and operated the Allbaugh Dry Goods—Ready To Wear Store until they retired in 1961. Mr. Allbaugh died in February of 1980. Mrs. Allbaugh had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove since May of 1981.

She died at the Rotary Ann Home early Sunday morning, Sept. 11,1983, at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 29 days.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth Allbaugh of Waterloo, Iowa; a daughter, Janet, Mrs. Dr. Keith Knorr of Ocala, Fla.; seven grandchildren, David Allbaugh, Mrs. Ann Allbaugh Burrell, Laurie Allbaugh, Mrs. Denise Knorr Nichols, Mrs. Cheryl Knorr Lindgren, Rhonda Knorr and Lisa Knorr; five great-grandchildren, Rachel and Daniel Allbaugh, Bonnie, Andrew and Dana Nichols; a sister, Mrs. Judith McFarland of Oakland, Calif.; four brothers, Gunner Bergreen of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada; John Bergreen of Fresno, Calif.; Art Bergreen of Portland, Ore. and Carl Bergreen of Pendleton, Ore. and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Elmer and Laud.

Mrs. Allbaugh was a member of the United Church of Christ, the Women's Fellowship of the church, Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, P.E.O. Chapter, Equality Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Rotary Ann Auxiliary and the Eagle Grove Country Club.

Funeral services for Cornelia Allbaugh, 86, of Eagle Grove were held today, Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove. Rev. Kenneth R. Reiter officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Tuesday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the church or the Rotary Ann Home.
